After looking on the www's and watching many a youtube video I took a chance. Well, in all fairness I purchased this on Amazon with my Prime account so I if it failed I know they would have taken care of me. The design is sleek however I wish the top wasn't that glossy, finger print magnet plastic manufacturers think we enjoy. It is solid with a good weight and rubber base. As with all good things you need to have balance so don't expect to crank this thing (WHICH YOU WILL!) and expect the battery to last very long.
The sound is better than nice and you wont believe how all that bass is coming from such a small package. This speaker may be one of the best under promoted and over delivering products I have come across. Good job Anker.

Great little speaker. I had my doubts but I am thoroughly impressed with the sound that comes out of this unit. Understand that this is not a speaker system with a sub woofer that you can feel in your gut, that being said, the bass is very noticeable. I purchased this for my wife's birthday and did quite a bit of research. For the price, the Anker speaker had it all. We have it sitting on our kitchen counter and what a great thing to have when your doing dishes or cooking. I listen to everything from music to the news on my phone and this is perfect. We also used it for background music for her party, with 15 people in the house you could hear it no problem, and as everyone moved to other rooms around the house, I simple picked up the speaker and moved it with us. No wires, fast connection, great sound, plenty of volume. One thing I found is that if I place it in the corner of our kitchen it enhances the bass even more, it kind of works like a bass trap. All and all we are very pleased with our purchase and would recommend this product.

Wow is all I can say! I live in Washington DC, and have a really fast paced life style. I was leaving for work one morning and picked my package up. First thing I did when I got to work was unbox it and get to playing!
Within a few seconds I had connected to the speaker and was playing music. The first, most shocker part was turning it on. This thing has bass!! And the audible noise when turning it on makes that clear.
I played this rather low in a work environment for the rest of the day. I took it home and listened to some music before going out to dinner. I came back to my place, and we went to the pool for the rest of the night (until at least 11pm). I had at least a good 8-9 hours of audio playback without charging it a single time!
I purchased a smaller Bluetooth speaker from anker around Christmas and already own a UE Boom from Logitech. I paid $100 for my UE boom. Around $35 for my little anker speaker, and this model is around $60. I literally cannot believe the sound quality for the money, and it's reliable.
Also, with my other anker speaker, I've gotten water all over it at the pool. It performs 100%. I don't suggest getting this model wet, but it speaks about build quality.
I own shure, klipsch, and Bose products. None of them have impressed me like this. My suggestion to anyone in the market for a portable speaker is to purchase this model. In purchasing a replacement for my UE Boom to permanently keep at work because I cannot deal with how low quality the sound is compared to this.. And this was $40 cheaper. 20watts packs a huge punch.
I primarily tested dance music, country pop, alternative. I cannot really speak to classical, but I have no doubts it will outperform any affordable speaker, let alone one this inexpensive.
I challenge anyone to finding a better speaker at a similar price, because you simply can't. Not to mention the company has amazing values. That "happy" pamphlet has all of their customer service contact information. Remember, anker has an 18 month warranty.

I am reviewing an Anker Premium Stereo Bluetooth Speaker.
The product comes packaged in the blue and white Anker box, with a description on the box of what is inside.
Inside the box you will find the following -
- Anker Premium Stereo Bluetooth Speaker
- AUX cable
- Micro USB charging cable for the speaker
- Instruction manual
- Anker Happy/ Not Happy Card.
The exterior of the speaker delicately designed. The top where the buttons are situated, the finish is polished black. The speakers are covered with a panel with is covered by a black mesh covering. The back is regular black plastic and same for the sides. One of the sides has the input for the AUX and the charging port. There are four buttons at the top of the speakers -
- Power Button - Turns the unit on and off (Has an LED indicator light)
- Play Button - This button has only the play symbol but does the functions of PLAY/PAUSE. This is also the button for PAIRING with your device. (Has an LED indicator light)
- Minus Button - Press the button once or several times and the volume will be lowered. If you press and HOLD the button it allows you to go back a song.
- Plus Button - Press the button once or several times and the volume will be increased. If you press and HOLD the button it allows you to go forward a song
The speaker is very simple to use and pretty self explanatory. To connect to a device you have to do the following -
- Enable Bluetooth on your device
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds and the speaker will play a sound indicating it has powered on.
- In order to pair, press and hold the play button for 5 seconds and the LED will repeatedly flash blue. The speaker is now in pairing mode.
- On your device in the Bluetooth list, look Anker A3143, press and connect.
- The device will play a sound to signify that pairing has been successful.
To test the battery life, I give the speaker a full charge overnight and played music straight from it for about 10-11 hours before it finally died.
I tested this device with three different phones, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, iPhone 5S. All devices connected successfully without issues and worked flawless.
Compared to other Bluetooth speakers I have used, this Speaker is superb in quality. There is no lag or delay on the speech from my devices to the speaker. The sound was clear and crisp. I have read some users complaining that they would like more bass, I found no issue with this as I felt this speaker provided the perfect amount of bass. I would recommend adjusting the sound settings on the device you are using.
Overall - This is an impressive, power, stylishly designed speaker with an impressive battery life and will give its competition a good run.
